After wudu, stand on a clean place and make intention in your heart to start with specific salah.

Sunnet before entering prayer

Putting sutrah

Sutrah is an object used as a barrier between himslef and one passing in front of him. It can be a chair, wall, pillar, or even the back of the man who is praying in front of us.

First takbeer

First takbeer position 1

Raise your hands up to your earlobes or shoulders, and say:

Arabic

ٱللَّهُ أَكْبَر

Transliteration

ALLAHU AKBAR

Translation

ALLAH IS THE GREATEST

Opening dua (supplication)

Opening dua (supplication) position 1

Salah starts with opening dua and it is sunnah. Place your right hand over your left, on chest, navel or stomach. One of opening duas on this step is dua:

Arabic

سُبْحَانَكَ ٱللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ

وَتَبَارَكَ ٱسْمُكَ

وَتَعَالَىٰ جَدُّكَ

وَلَا إِلَـٰهَ غَيْرُكَ

Transliteration

SUBHĀNAKA-ALLĀHUMMA WA BI HAMDIKA

WA TABAARAK-ASMUKA

WA TA’ĀLĀ JADDUKA

WA LĀ ILAAHA GHAYRUK

Translation

O Allah, glory and praise are for You.

Blessed is Your Name,

exalted is Your Majesty,

and there is no god but You.

Other opening duas you can recite

Dua:

ALLAHU AKBARU KABIRA, WAL-HAMDU LILLAHI KATHIRA, SUBHANALLAHI BUKRATAN WA-ASEELA

Allah is Most Great and much praise be to Allah and glorified be Allah at the beginning and end of the day

Reciting surah Al-Fatiha

Reciting surah Al-Fatiha position 1

Then you recite Auzubillah and Bismillah quietly. Then recite surah Al-Fatiha with tajweed (correct recitation of the Quran)

Arabic

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَانِ ٱلرَّجِيم

Transliteration

AUUDHU BI-LLAHI MIN ASH-SHAITAANIR RAJEEM

Translation

I seek protection in Allah from the rejected Satan

Arabic

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

غَيرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

ءَامِين

Transliteration

BISMI-LLAHIR-RAHMAANIR-RAHEEM

AL-HAMDU LILLAAHI RABBIL-’ĀLAMEENN

AR-RAHMAANIR-RAHEEM

MAALIKI YAWMID-DEEN

IYYAAKA NA’ABOODU WA IYYAAKA NASTA’EEN

IHDEENAS-SIRAATAL-MUSTAQEEM

SIRAATAL-LADHEENA AN’AMTA ALAYHIM

GHAYRIL-MAGHDUUBI ALAYHIM WA LAD-DAALLEEN

AMEEN

Translation

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Praise be to Allah, Lord of all the worlds;

The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful;

Master of the Day of Recompense (Judgement day);

You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help;

Guide us on the straight path;

the path of those who You have bestowed favors;

not of those who have evoked Your anger or those who are astray.

After Al-Fatiha recite something from the Quran

Arabic

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ

لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ

وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدُۢ

Transliteration

QUL HUWALLAHU AHAD

ALLAHU SAMAD

LAM YALID WA LAM YULAD

WA LAM YAKUL-LAHU KUFUWAN AHAD

Translation

Say: "He is Allah - One!

Allah, the Eternal Refuge!

He neither begets nor is born,

Nor is there to Him any equivalent!"

Going to ruku' (bowing)

Going to ruku' (bowing) position 1

Then you say Dhikr: ({{zikrTr}}) and bow down (go to ruku') during which the worshiper straightens his back and does not throw them out, does not lower his head or straighten up. Place your hands on your knees and spread your fingers.

Sunnah while going to ruku'

Raising hands same as while first takbeer

Allah's Messenger used to raise both his hands up to the level of his shoulders when opening the prayer; and on saying the Takbir for bowing. And on rasinig his head from bowing he used to do the same and then say: "Semi'a l-lahu liman hamidah, Rabbana wa laka l-hamd" and he did not do that in prostration.

SAMI-ALLAHU LIMAN HAMIDAH

Translation

Allah heard the one who praised Him

After you are standing upright, and before going to sujood, say:

Arabic

رَبَّنَا لَكَ ٱلْحَمْد

Transliteration

RABBANA LAKAL-HAMD

Translation

Our Lord, to You is all praise

Sunnah while going back from ruku'

Going down for sujood (prostration)

Going down for sujood (prostration) position 1

After that, go down into prostration (sujood) and say Dhikr: ({{zikrTr}}) while going down.

It is necessary to make sujood with 7 part of the body: forehead, nose, palms of both hands, both knees and inner part of toes, spreading your thighs, not leaning stomach on them, with fingers facing Qiblah.

It is sunnah, while going to sujood, to first place hands, and then knees.

Place your face between palms of hands (feets are straight and toes are pointing forward) and say 3 times:

Arabic

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ

Transliteration

SUBHAANA RABBIY-AL-’AALAA

Translation

Glory be to my Lord, the Highest

Dhikr during sujood

Dhikr:

SUBHANAK-ALLAHUMMA, RABBANA WA BIHAMDIKA, ALLAHUM-MAGHFIR LI

Then we say Dhikr: ({{zikrTr}}) while rising from prostration to sitting position, and looking ahead we quietly say:

رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِي رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِي

Transliteration

RABBIGH-FIR LEE, RABBIGH-FIR LEE

Translation

O my Lord, forgive me, O my Lord, forgive me

Sunnah while sitting between two sujoods

After saying 'RABIG-FIR-LĪ, RABIG-FIR-LĪ' it is sunnah to say this dhikr:

ALLAHUMMAGHFIRLI, WARHAMNI, WAHDINI, WAJBURNI, WA'AAFINI, WARZUQNI, WARFA'NI.

O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, strenghten and enrich me, grant me healt and protection, provide me with sustenance and raise my rank

Then make another saying Dhikr: ({{zikrTr}}) while going to it. At it, as at the previous one, say:

Translation

Indeed, We have granted you abundant goodness,

so pray and sacrifice to your Lord alone,

indeed, only the one who hates you is truly cut off from any goodness.

Then say Dhikr: ({{zikrTr}}), sit on your knees, raise your index finger of the right hand, and while looking at it, say:

Arabic

ٱلتَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَٱلصَّلَوَاتُ وَٱلطَّيِّبَاتُ

ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَىٰ عِبَادِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلصَّالِحِين

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّه

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

Transliteration

AT-TAHIYYATU LILLAH, WAS-SALAWAATU WAT-TAYYIBAAT

AS-SALAAMU 'ALAYKA AYYUHAN-NABIYYU WA RAHMETULLAHI WA BARAKAATU.

AS-SALAAMU ALAYNA, WA ALAA IBAADI-LLAHIS SAALIHEEN.

ASHHADU AN LAA ILAAHA ILL-ALLAHU

WA ASHHADU ANNA MUHAMMADAN ABDUHU WA RASOOLUH

Translation

All compliments are for Allah, and prayers and good deeds.

Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

Peace be upon us and on the righteous servants of Allah.

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah

and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

Sunnah while sitting

The Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, would connect the tip of his thumb with the tip of his middle finger by making a link and would point his index finger in the direction of the qibla and his gaze would be directed at him.

It is Sunnah to sit on one's feet in the first sitting and between two prostrations, to straighten the right leg and bend the toes so that they are facing the Qibla, and to bend the left leg and sit on it, or to sit on the ends of the straightened feet

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: I saw that whenever Allah's Messenger stood for the prayer, he used to raise both his hands up to the shoulders, and used to do the same on saying Takbir for bowing and on rising his head from it, and used to say: "Sami'a l-lahu liman hamidah." But he did not do that in prostration.

Allah's Messenger used to raise both his hands up to the level of his shoulders when opening the prayer; and on saying the Takbir for bowing. And on rasinig his head from bowing he used to do the same and then say: "Semi'a l-lahu liman hamidah, Rabbana wa laka l-hamd" and he did not do that in prostration.

IYYAAKA NA’ABOODU WA IYYAAKA NASTA’EEN

GHAYRIL-MAGHDUUBI ALAYHIM WA LAD-DAALLEEN

Translation

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Praise be to Allah, Lord of all the worlds;

The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful;

Master of the Day of Recompense (Judgement day);

You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help;

Guide us on the straight path;

the path of those who You have bestowed favors;

not of those who have evoked Your anger or those who are astray.

Ameen!

Then you say Dhikr: ({{zikrTr}}) and bow down (go to ruku') during which the worshiper straightens his back and does not throw them out, does not lower his head or straighten up. Place your hands on your knees and spread your fingers.

Allah heard the one who praised Him

رَبَّنَا لَكَ ٱلْحَمْد

Our Lord, to You is all praise

Then say Dhikr: ({{zikrTr}}), sit on your knees, raise your index finger of the right hand, and while looking at it, say:

ٱلتَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَٱلصَّلَوَاتُ وَٱلطَّيِّبَاتُ

ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَىٰ عِبَادِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلصَّالِحِين

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّه

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

Transliteration

AT-TAHIYYATU LILLAH, WAS-SALAWAATU WAT-TAYYIBAAT

AS-SALAAMU 'ALAYKA AYYUHAN-NABIYYU WA RAHMETULLAHI WA BARAKAATU.

AS-SALAAMU ALAYNA, WA ALAA IBAADI-LLAHIS SAALIHEEN.

ASHHADU AN LAA ILAAHA ILL-ALLAHU

WA ASHHADU ANNA MUHAMMADAN ABDUHU WA RASOOLUH

Translation

All compliments are for Allah, and prayers and good deeds.

Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

Peace be upon us and on the righteous servants of Allah.

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah

and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

Sunnah while sitting

The Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, would connect the tip of his thumb with the tip of his middle finger by making a link and would point his index finger in the direction of the qibla and his gaze would be directed at him.

It is Sunnah to sit on one's feet in the first sitting and between two prostrations, to straighten the right leg and bend the toes so that they are facing the Qibla, and to bend the left leg and sit on it, or to sit on the ends of the straightened feet

ٱللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّد

كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيد

ٱللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّد

كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيد

Transliteration

ALLAHUMMA SALLI 'ALAA MUHAMMADIN WA 'ALAA AALI MUHAMMED

KAMAA SALLAYTA 'ALAA IBRAHEEMA WE 'ALAA AALI IBRAHEEM, INNAKA HAMEEDUM MAJEED.

ALLAHUMMA BAARIK 'ALAA MUHAMMADIN WA 'ALAA AALI MUHAMMED

KAMAA BAARAKTA 'ALAA IBRAHEEMA WA 'ALAA AALI IBRAHEEMA, INNAKA HAMEEDUM MAJEED.

Translation

O Allah, send Your mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

just as You sent mercy upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Truly You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

just as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Truly You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.

Sunnah before salah

Dua:

ALLAHUMME RABBANA AATINA FID-DUNYA HASANATAN WA FIL-AAKHIRATI HASANATAN WA QINA ‘ADHAABAN NAAR.

RABBANAGHFIRLI WA LI WALIDAYYA

WA LIL MU'MININA YAUMA YAQUMUL HISAB.

O our Lord, give us good in this world and the good in the hereafter and protect us from the punishemnt of the Fire.

Our Lord, forgive me, my parents

and the believers on the Day of Judgement.

Dua:

ALLAHUMMA AI'NNI ALA ZIKRIKA, WA SHUKRIKA, WA HUSNI 'IBAADATIK

O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner

Complete the salah by turning your head over your right shoulder, saying:

ٱلسَلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ ٱللَّه

Transliteration

AS-SALAAMU ALAYKUM WA RAHMAT-ULLAH

Translation

May peace and the mercy of Allah be upon you

then repeat these words while turning your head over your left shoulder.

Sunnah before salah

Dhikr:

ALLAHUMMA ANTAS-SALAM WA MINKAS-SALAM, TABARAKTA YA DHAL-JALALI WAL-IKRAM

O Allah, You are peace, from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour

Dhikr:

ALLAHUMMA AI'NNI ALA ZIKRIKA, WA SHUKRIKA, WA HUSNI 'IBAADATIK

O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner
